I also got accepted into BEng/BCom at USYD. Yiewww
Check out the faculty handbooks. If you study the right areas hard enough, you'll eventually form an understanding of the degree's structure. But as jb_nc said, im sure the people when you enrol will be able to spell it out for you.
There is little specific information on subjects and course structure for the combined degrees, but put simply the following apply...
- Total of 240 credit points (144 in engineering, 96 in ecos/business)
- Must take the specified 7 core subjects of ecos/bus (reduced down from 11 in normal ecos/bus degrees)
- Thereafter, fill the rest of ecos/bus units of study with at least one major.
- Choose a discipline of engineering (eg civil), and simply complete all the subjects set out for each given discipline. (as listed in the faculty handbooks - you just have to read it)
- It is the electives (usually in years 2-4 of a normal engineering degree) which are not required to be studied in the combined degree, and are instead filled with the commerce subjects as per above.
The faculty websites are also good. Im led to believe that in 1st year, close to all students will be following the same subject structure, as displayed in the following link...
