Also, Is it recommended to do ext-1 instead of advanced english? My tutor teacher said I should do ext-1 instead of advanced because It only had 2 extra texts...? Any thoughts.
P.s. I'm not very confident at english but i'm alright...
I'd say give EX1 a go, and drop it later if you don't like it. I find EX1 to be much more interesting than Advanced, and easier too. Most of my friends agree with me.

I'm thinking of doing:

- 3 unit Math
- Advanced English
- Modern History
- Business Studies
- French

I'm thinking of dropping science but my tutor says that if I want to do Business or something in uni, I have to do chemistry? My sister says that I don't but my tutor says that I do so i'm really confused right now.

In what way does business relate to chemistry? Hmm, in my personal opinion, I believe you should do what you want. Are you curious and good at sciences? If you are, I would recommend doing that subject if you think you'll enjoy it.

I have no idea how it relates but he started talking about how he does chemical engineering and they offered him a masters in business or some shit like that iirc. I'm good at science like I got 70% in my half yearlies whilst the a lot of the other people in my grade got below 45% but I have no interest in science.

Then obviously it'll be better in the long run for you to choose a social science like Business Studies or Economics (if you are more interested in things like business, commerce, etc.)

I'm an example of a person who chose Business Studies over Chemistry due to the fact that I knew my strengths lie in Social Science.

For those who are doing/going to do English Extension, what module and elective are you doing? I've looked at syllabus and I'm absolutely blown away on how interesting it sounds. Especially the topics in 'texts and ways of thinking' like after the bomb and romanticism :)

I've looked into the board of syllabus electives for 3U English and I'm quite keen to write science fiction genre as that is where my interest lies. Although, I wouldn't be fuming if I had another genre, as most seem decent.

I got a good laugh out of that - its completely ridiculous. If your strengths and interests lie in business studies, then you should do that.

It's interesting, but always remember that your 2 main units for English are almost always going to be English Advanced so you should be prepared for what is more than 1 unit of work in Extension.

And what you're looking at is for the HSC, for preliminary, your school chooses what module/s you do.

And even for the HSC, out of the prescribed ones, your school chooses only 1 module, so you're stuck with that for the rest of the year.

My school does After the Bomb in year 12, but some schools do Romanticism which I've heard to be very very dry in content.

Thats true, I've heard a lot of people describing romanticism as a 'dry subject'. But learning how people thought in those times can't be that dry...

I think doing romanticism wouldn't be too bad - modernism sounded absolutely boring in term 1 but most people in my class grew to love it. i guess these things vary a bit...I'd reckon it depends more on studied text too...

At the moment for preliminary, we're doing the Gothic Genre. I like it very much :)

I feel bad about how I most likely will drop EE1 for MX2. It's such a good subject.

just wondering... for year 12 which subject should i drop.
even though it's a bit early, but it's good to know beforehand.
I know it's based on my own interests, but personally, if you had to drop one to make... let's say 11 units. which would you drop?
just wanted to see the majority's consensus.

Replace chemistry with legal and physics with business and ill drop SOR 1
