I seem to be having problems with my subject selection, following the lines the school gave out. Here is what I have so far:

English Adv
EE1
SOR1
Mathematics
Chem (or Modern)
Bio (or Phys)
S&C (or Econ/Ancient)

I was originally planning to do both Modern and Chem, but unfortunately they clash. So, which one should I pick ?

Also should I consider switching any of those other subjects ?

+ I'm planning on doing either Psychology or Medicine at uni.

Well, do the one you like best or are better at.

Also, don't really worry about picking subjects that related to your uni course.

As Tim said, pick the subjects you'd prefer or are better at.

I'd suggest doing bio though seeing as it might help you if you do med.

Personally i'd pick modern over chem but that's just my personal preference - if you'd prefer essays and politics do modern, if you'd prefer equations and concepts do chem.

I agree with both statements, just pick the subjects that ur confident with and if you feel that you wont like the subjects, you can always change in yr 11 but be quick though ;)

WARNING: I'm biased.

I don't know about your interests, but this is what I would do:

Chem (or Modern)
Bio (or Phys)
S&C (or Econ/Ancient)

all the universities want for medicine is a good english score so you're covered. they recommend physics and/or chem and/or bio but one is enough if there's something else you want to do. want is just as important as need because you have to sit through this. choose what you feel motivated and confident doing or you are just going to hate school. eg. i chose ext. maths because i was told to and now i'm failing at just regular advanced level because i'm so far behind from that.

our school gets everyone's choices in and then decides the lines after that so as many people are happy as possible. and with 500 year 11's there's usually enough for a few classes so lines actually didn't matter. eg i am in the 9th bio class. so sorry i have minimal understanding of "lines"

honestly i would definitely do chemistry over modern, if you're that keen on history perhaps you should consider doing ancient?
i'm sure the majority of aspiring medical students are doing chemistry,
but you're lucky that you have good choices on lines. my current school has the worse line configuration. i blame the state government and their stupid new 17 years of age policy
