hi i'm currently in year 10 and i'm about to choose subjects for yr 11 and 12, i'm thinkin about doing:
extension 1 eng
extension 1 mat or 2 unit maths
visual arts
modern or ancient history
physics or biology
business studies if i decide not to do extension 1 maths

anyone got any advice on what subjects i should choose?

english im ranked mid40's/120
maths dont know ranking but i'm decent.
social science same as maths
science good at biology not so much anything else especially not chem.

to add, my school is pretty competitive, something like top 20 in the state...

Looks like you have an open field in terms of picking.

Perhaps you could talk to the faculty coordinators to ask them what you might learn to see if it takes your fancy.

Also have a look at the syllabus for each of those subjects.

Look at the assumed knowledge for the course you wish to undertake in University and perhaps decide from there?

we would be exactly the same if you replaced visual arts with chemistry. But doesn't all your subjects add up to 14 units?

if i do ext 1 maths it'll be 12 units, if i just do 2 unit maths ill have to do business studies because our school needs at least 12 units in yr 11, otherwise i wont be doin business studies haha

If you're "decent" in maths in a very competitive school, give 3u maths a go. However, Business would be a safe option as it's easier since it's just memorising the content.

I personally would pick Ext.1 Maths over business. Especially when you want to do architecture. I'm doing both and I actually enjoy them both quite equally.
