I've just started Year 11 with:

- Advanced English
- Extension Maths
- Chemistry
- Economics
- Business Studies
- Biology

I got into my first class of biology and straight away I didn't like it. The class has 30 odd people in it and the teacher put a slideshow on the board for us to copy down, which doesn't really help me learn personally. I started having second thoughts about choosing the subject and made a pretty impulsive decision to change to modern history. I changed because the modern history class is 12 and the teacher is amazing, she is very thorough and proactive, constantly giving practice essay questions and marking them etc.

I'm now slightly regretting my decision to change to modern history, as it is a lot of essays, on top of my other essay subjects. I have just been looking at the biology textbook and it seems very conducive to my type of learning - just learning facts under headings and in a way regurgitating that in an exam.

In short, here is a breakdown of each subject for me personally

Biology
I feel as though the course would be easier for me personally to learn and do well in, however, I think that it would take a lot of work from me personally at home since the teacher isn't the best. Also, I am not the best with practical assessments. Also, with such. a huge class it would be very hard for me to get personal assistance from the teacher

Modern History
With the smaller class, the teacher is much more accessible to me for help, as well as having a teaching style that I personally prefer. However, the course has a lot of essays and things like that, which I am not too bad at but it is a lot of essay-based subjects.

I was just wondering if anyone has done these courses, and / or have some advice for me.

Thanks heaps :)

bio scales better,m best-scaling science subject, although do what you enjoy more as it will motivate you to become better in it.b also, if you don't like the teaching style just ask to move to a class with a better teacher, or ask the teacher to change her teaching style

I did both bio and modern.. and MODERN IS AMAZING. Never liked bio ALOT but still managed to pull a band 5. Choose modern if you prefer essays and writting responses.
