Wow.. At our school the exams are spread out more.
For example, Science tests would be in week 7. Maths & English in week 8 and humanities in week 9. So it's easier to prepare for all of it.

I'm thinking of making a timetable whilst being extremely dedicated to it. It's easier said than done, but I believe I can stick to it for these 2 long weeks.
I would, for two weeks you should be able to stick to it, especially if you're committed to doing well in this assessment block.

If you're going to cram, cram now so that it won't affect exam performance.

Ahhh but then it wouldn't be cramming.

I am worried to slip back into the cramming cycle and I'm sure it will happen, it started again for my last assessment this term... It's a bad habit.

hahahah,, yeah that's the point.

It's not really a cramming if you cram early.;)

But that's a good message to all crammers around the state - the quicker you cram, the better your result can be!

Welcome to the HSC. It's gunna a rollercoaster of a ride (to use a cliche). Don't worry yourself. I did the same thing and realised how pointless it was. Do your best and that's all you can do.

Study advice for the holidays!

Hi everyone,

Yesterday was the last day of school for me so now I am on holidays for eight weeks. Is this the best time to prepare for next year? Should I finish my notes or read parts of textbooks so I will be ahead. As it is a long period I don't want to waste it, I want to make the most of it because I know next year the holidays will be super busy. Anyone got any tips or advice?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Study advice for the holidays!

If you have a major work or anything, get on top of it now.
I'd say for now, sort your notes well, make sure everything is organised.
Go over what you already have done and become familiar with things you have already studied.
Go ahead a little if you like.

I plan to finish my draft of my ENE2 MW by the end of the holidays..

Re: Study advice for the holidays!

Start preparing for English. Read/ Watch all prescribed texts once so when you actually start studying them in class, you will be less pressured. Also, these holidays are the best time for consolidating knowledge in your first modules. If you start memorising now, it will be less stress for you as the HSC approaches.

I think it is. I mean if you do some work in the holidays - you should be proficient with at least the first topic - which means you're already set for roughly 25% of your HSC. Basically - I would write notes on everything you did in Term 4 and make sure you understand it.

But if you cram too quickly - it could be considered study :p
