Quite true. It really does depend on the difficulty of your trial, and whether or not your teacher aligns your marks or not. My maths teacher always aligns our marks to a 65 average whereas English will just give us our raw marks. Typically though you can compare your trials to past HSC's and decide for yourself whether they'll be easier or harder. In my case, school sets uber hard trials so it'd be fair to say the hsc will be easier.
