being in a stable relationships makes it easier to get through the HSC.

agree or disagree?

and does a rocky relationship makes things so much worse?

I think you could be just as easily distracted if it was a good relationship. At the risk of generalising, most 18yr old hscers would be super intense with their bf/gf especially with first timers. Plus then the parent factor steps in..

I don't know since I wasn't in a relationship. But my mates are telling me it's all good because they support each other during the time of difficulties.

But I doubt that it is the case for all. Because being in a relationship means a lot of commitments that would have adverse effect on the academic life.

Grow up and don't treat relationships so retardedly.

Sex is a great stress reliever.

It is good to have someone close who you can talk to in times of stress.

If you can't handle a partner during the HSC you are a social retard.

If you feel the mundanity of life getting you down, putting cinnamon or a mint leaf in your tea can spice things up a bit!

HSC is not that hard, read outcomes then do it.

There will always be stress in life, there should always be relationships in life. Learn to deal with it.

People driving their cars to work is the greatest source of traffic pollution. Have you thought about car pooling? Why not catch public transport on fridays and enjoy a couple of after-work drinks?

I can't commit to a damn study timetable, let alone a proper longterm relationship! :p
So I think it depends on your personality whether having a bf/gf gives you more/less stress and whether mushy feelings distract you from study or not. Definitely rocky relationship is bad though.

Stress and depression is bad for your HSC. What causes these factors varies.

every boyf/girlf sitch is different.

honestly, even having a good one can affect your HSC because the other person may be demanding more attention from you that you need to be spending on studying.

and if you guys are both doing your HSC at the same time, there will be times when you hardly see eachother and this can cause stress in the relationship. I dunno, just personal experience, cuz my ex n I went through the school cert together and that was bad enough as I'm a high achiever and he just didnt give a damn. We ended up breaking up this year because he just wasn't serious enough about year 11 and we were always fighting about relationships.

Life story = ending now.

I don't find girlfriends demanding time gets in the way of studying. More lyk I want to hang out with them and have no self control.
