In the operations syllabus, although managing change is an operations strategy, it does not give you set strategies to manage change effectively. Those financial costs, and inertia, are reasons for change. So if you get a question on how to manage change effectively, what are the strategies you would say. Like how it was in the CSSA trial in the business report

Change Management Strategies:
1. Identify sources of change and decide whether there is a need to change processes
2. Reduce resistance to change by communcating with employees about the need to change, and getting support for the change to be implemented.
3. Use change agents, who initiate change or facilitate the change process.
4. Change models

They are outlined very briefly in my textbook (business studies in action) but I have no idea what I would do if I got that in the report....If it was describe/outline it would be easy, but the CSSA paper had ANALYSE....

Just make it up i guess. Results of using these strategies (both postive and negative results). Implications of using these strategies. Implications for the business if these strategies were not used.

Yeh I have the business studies in action textbook as well. There is very limited information on the strategies. There's a snapshot on the change models; so there's a bit more detail there. But there is not much to talk about, especially if it comes up in an essay/business report. What do?

For managing changes effectively it is very important that you should have good managing capability and have a healthier relationship with clients. You should have a capability to handle all business issues. In my opinion every team leader should have capability of lead a team and have sprit to encourage their team members. It's team leader responsibility to manage all things.

Can you use human resources strategies to manage change? Like rewards, job design and such so as to help reinforce the change?
