nsw could be proud of the effort imho, qld had some luck e.g. forward pass after high time or dugan taken in the air.

Defence was rock solid when they had like 5 line drop outs in a row

I work at SFS/SCG and AFL and Super Rugby consistently pull 20,000+
Super Rugby is outrated on Fox by the Toyota Cup...and the Tah's are lucky to get 15,000 out there.

That mob are so far away from worrying the NRL it's not funny!

actually nrl in general, does anyone even watch that shit anymore. i grew up playing and watching nrl and i havent watched a game for like a year

i watched geelong v carlton the other week and was quite entertained by the game and 102-100 final score

didnt they get a 30,000 person crowd at a swans game on the weekend and only 10,000 to a roosters v knights game?
Yes...but look at Saints/Dogs or Saints/Roosters at the SCG/SFS. 35k IIRC.

But yeah, AFL does well with its crowds, mainly in Melbourne. Kudos to them.

lol not just melbourne

In Perth the West Coast Eagles pack out a 50 000+ seat stadium every 2 weeks. The waiting list to become a member stretches into the years, and the few seats still available for the general public often sell out in less than an hour

Fremantle Docker's stats aren't quite as good, but still packing the stadium out every home game

Yes, they do very well. Helps when it's really the only Football code in town.

Swans, Gold Coast, Lions have it a lot tougher...

broncos do well on average attendance of about 40k-50k~ a year and actually make a profit in the millions (rare for clubs of any sport these days).

Sydney and Melbourne teams have small area's compared to say west coast which has an entire city following it. Melbourne culture (kudos to AFL) has made the crowds more likely to show up to games, while sydney league team followers just watch on tv. Another reason is the size of sydney teams compared to melbourne teams, and now all melbourne clubs play at MCG/Eithad makes its near CBD. While NRL ahs games from brookvale, to penrith, to cornulla and everywhere in between.

AFL has a huge leg up on the NRL when it comes to attendance, but NRL has higher TV viewers.

a crowd is a crowd, that's how many people can be bothered getting off their arse to go to the game.
Swans had roughly 49,000 people watching their game on TV in sydney on sunday whilst the roosters game had 241,000 people watching theirs at the same time. TV ratings are a greater representation of interest
just proves that no one cares about NRL

the supporters cant even be bothered to go watch the game live
