Well I'm starting Bachelor of Design really sooon (did my tutorial reg yesterday and everything) and I'm just wondering, whats the best laptop to suit this course?

Mac or PC?
Also, I have a friend that goes to UNSW and she said they get student discounts for their laptops, does UWS offer this?
And one last thing, do we have to buy the Adobe Photoshop programs ourselves?

thanks in advance :)

Many of the design people I know, particularly graphic design, use Macs. But you should wait until your course starts, your lecturer might be able to recommend a particular one for you, or you might be able to see what kind of computers they use during class at uni.

You usually have to buy Adobe yourself but if you have a uni student card, you can get a massive student discount. I would still recommend you wait until you speak to your lecturer at uni to find out whether they can do a deal for you, you might be able to have Adobe uploaded on to your laptop if the uni has Adobe student licence for it, I'm not quite sure how it works in the design area.
