hey guys in the 1st assessment block i came 1st in standard english and 4th in advanced. the reason why i dropped adv. in yr 11 was cause i hated the teacher but now there is a new teacher for the class so do u guys rekon i should crawl back lol.

wat im basically asking is:
is it betta to come 1st in STD or gud in ADV ???
(pls dnt think i am HSC band 6 STD material lol)

I prefer English Standard because it is easier than English Advanced and the workload is less.

You could try Advanced in the Preliminary and drop to Standard in the HSC year.

How would you know that? Have you done Advanced Eng. before?

Apparently two English Advanced students decided to drop to English Standard and ended up in my class.

I think its fairly obvious that the workload in standard english is less than advanced. we get easier texts to study, i dont know about all teachers but the ones at my school supply us with related texts and dedicate lessons to them.
I've never been good at english (except when i got 91 for english in the school cert, that was weird), so it was an easy decision for me to take standard english.

I'm not exactly sure about this but i would assume if you are doing well enough in Standard then you would then be encouraged to move up by your teachers wouldn't you? But there has to be a deadline. Hmmm.... wonder when that is?????
