first time i saw the trailer i honestly had no idea heath ledger was playing the joker. it was only a few days after his death i heard he was playing the joker . it just doesnt look like him at all, a complete transformation

That's 'cause he's a method actor. He gets wholly in character. Watch any film with Hugh Grant in it: he pretty much plays Hugh Grant. Then watch a film wit someone like Ledger, Daniel Craig, Nathan Fillion or Viggo Mortensen in it. They're method actors; they play the characters.
