she just likes the songs... which is cool... we should all be more like that
Agreed. Nothing shits me more than some xcore music freak screaming at you because you don't know the lead's b'day or dissing you when you say you like a band but can't be a true fan because you don't own all theyre albums. Sounds extreme, but it's happened to me.

Haha, i have a friend that bakes cakes on her favourite band members birthdays..

I don't complain, i like cake.

I dunno.. some of them get cut if you like a song thats their proclaimed "favourite" and they get shitty at you for liking it.. It's pathetic. Why can't people just like and share the music :p

Hahah. These days it's all about the 'scene' now...and the fashion....
'fashionxcore' bahahah...lame.
But then, you get those who do anything to prove that they are NOT part of the scene, and do stupid things like try to name as many obscure 'real punk' bands (which are mostly all post hardcore or whatevs) and try to get band shirst with bands that no one else has heard of. HAhaha.
My random thought of the night.

So true! I have friends who are pretty into the local punk/rock scene (but not really - just trying to be cool) and they're all "yeah, i liked them when they were local/underground"

if your talking about pshyced as in makes you wanna dance around until your limbs drop off, then mine would have to be:

Young Guns - WHAM!
Cosmic Girl - Jamiroquai
Thriller - Michael Jackson
Whip It - Devo

ARGH! heaps of my friends are like that and it drives me crazy....they slip in the names of obscure Quakers Hill bands that i've never heard of and then when i ask what they're on about, they elaborate as though anyone who's worth anything should know all about it...

and then they invite me to 'gigs' of bands i've never heard of and expect me to know and love their music, and if i ask what i should compare it to to get an idea, they just give me more obscurity and then get annoyed when i say i don't want to go....

ggggr sorry for ranting, i just get so annoyed~

i know what its like, my hometown is yours lol. a few years ago there were heaps of good bands but now they are all image and im older than all the bands and punters now lol. seeing as tho ur from penrith as well and if ur 18 head down to the embassy on tuesday nights to see jam with the band. seeing 45 year old guys playing pink floyd covers and young musicians performing their own stuff makes quite a nice evening

OH MY GOD!! I 100% understand, my friend is exactly the same. I went to a gig with her once, and she just ditched me there for her band friends and i just sat their twiddling my thumbs. She keeps asking me to go back and she gets shitty when i say no. Some people just don't get it.

exactly! i know that because they're heavily into it, they'll be moshing and going crazy and hanging out with strangers that i've never met and it will be a highly uncomfortable experience because i will just want to stand there and not do anything......waste of my time and energy

yeah true that channel cafe is home to so many great underage memories for me it was sad to see it go and same with backdoor, all gone. its good that embo is being used for that cuz those scene kids need their kisschasy and need their shit music local so mum and dad can pick them up
