ln x - (3/ln x) = 2
Let u = ln x

u - 3/u = 2
u^2 - 3 = 2u
u^2 - 2u - 3 = 0
(u - 3)(u + 1) = 0
u = 3, u = -1
ln x = 3, ln x = -1
x = e^(3) and x = e(-1)

ummm i finished 1-9 within 1.5 hour~ went bak to check over and left 30 minutes for Q10~ b) was easy i finished it all! but a) kinda got me =.= i think at about 5 minutes till pens down, i figured it out tat its a inverse trig kinda question! so i wrote A=7ln5-[e^y +2y] (with the boundaries 1n5 and 0)but i did not hav time to finish the last step ! wat can i possibly get? a 3/5?

Eh? ln x = -1 can be done...
You're thinking of ln (-1) = x which is undefined.

But ln x = -1 can be done and you can try this on your calculator, go for it.

i see what u did..looks right! but i did this... now it it looks wrong:
InX-3/InX=2
InX . InX -3 =2InX (multiply by InX to rid the fraction)
In(X+X) -2InX= 3
In (2X)- InX^2=3
In(2X/X^2)=3
In(2/x)=3
In(2/X)=3Ine
2/X=e^3
X=2/e^3

you all forgot whats going on

the answer is:
15/100 X 14/99 = 7/330

there is no replacement after one person is out theres 99 people left

therefore 9a = 7/330
