1. Bank bills are short term bills of exchange where large amounts of money are given immediately and the borrower promises to repay the sum of money with an agreed additional interest at a set date. It's a bank bill because the bank acts as a third party in guaranteeing the payment.

2. Merchant Banks provide financial services to the business sector and financial companies provide services like a bank, however often at more competitive rates and for smaller sums.
