tbh I spent so long each night doing maths homework I only had a spare 30-45 minutes, which I'd waste talking to my sisterYou guys are such extremists... what did you do with your spare time? Or did you study 24/7?

Yes, but your advice to not use any social media conveys a misleading message. Whether one person wants to relax by playing sports, games, or going on social media, is there a difference? Not really. So, advice to avoid social media is practically the same as advice to avoid relaxing activities, which is poor.Social media is not the only form of relaxing and unwinding.
Well, during the holidays I would study from 4 - 10 without any distractions. But some days I can get carried away and waste my time on social networking. I'll leave it when i come back from school and if it becomes too much i'll delete it straight away. I would chill and watch movies, go outside during my spare time etc.You guys are such extremists... what did you do with your spare time? Or did you study 24/7?
Yeah I understand that social media can be a distraction. I'm just saying that social media is a valid form of relaxation, just as much so as "chilling out and watching movies" or "going outside". If you have the time to be watching MOVIES... then I'm sure you can have the time for social media. Both are forms of distractions (I've had people tell me they can't stop watching TV shows) and relaxation. And both need to be moderated with discipline.Well, during the holidays I would study from 4 - 10 without any distractions. Yeah, I understand. Did you have social networking during your HSC? And how did that go? Thank you for your advice btw!Yeah I understand that social media can be a distraction. I had facebook, but I didn't use it that much as I became more focused on studying. Still, it had it perks when it came to socialising. I recall a time where I grabbed a tutor friend's phone number in order to stay in contact and then after a while I realised that facebook is simply more effective for communication (especially for us young people). What was more of a distraction for me though was gaming, sports (basketball), and music (guitar). Spent at least 1+ hrs a day on some combination of these. It was VERY helpful when it came to clearing my mind so I could learn things more quickly and study more effectively, and I don't see why social media can't have the same effect.Yeah, I understand. Well, currently I'm studying from 5pm - 11. Some days I get carried away but I can usually just easily put my phone down and concentratedon't delete it man. if it's a problem with procrastination then you'll just find another way to procrastinate. how many hours a day do you plan to study anyway? 2-4 hours? keep it just to stay in touch with friends
Athletics training and study take up the bulk of my time. In the holidays I get some mates over or we all go out. Try to get to bed nice and early and then do it all over again. In the end, you only really care about 5-10 people who are on your social media feed anyway, so I've noticed no substantial loss. You guys are such extremists... what did you do with your spare time?
