I still feel safer in a car lol
Too many dickheads on the road and that one time you dont react quick enough to those dickheads is the one time you will get fucked up
Whereas in my car with airbags and abs and superawsome handling i have more options (super swerving skills) and control, plus if i do get fucked up its me impacting some plastic and seatbelt and airbag VS the fucking road/other vehicle etc
I like bikes lol but there is no way they are as safe as cars.
And my car can stop pretty fucking quickly as opposed to my bike which stops pretty slowly. Nobbies dont help lol scary trying to maintain control while doing and decent braking tbh

That's what happened to my friend.

5/6am in the morning - Friend was in his bike and a truck ran a red light.

You can figure out the rest.

there was that 5th gear video with a 1098s or 1198r or something vs lambo murcielago superleggera

had a weave test, 60-0 test and a track lap
the bike won weave and lap and lost the braking by about 5m
fair amount, but considering the effort it put in against a 600k supercar it was a decent effort
a 1098 ain't your standard motorbike either.

Hard braking on a motorcycle is a nightmare in the rain. Bad road conditions, gravel/mud/water/oil etc, are where the disadvantages of a bike over a car really show up.

?

Bet my left testicle that a motorcycle is both more maneuverable and has more options (small gaps in parked traffic, cycle lanes, whatever)

You should all be leaving the option for yourself to get into a gap should you need to, btw

More manouverable doesn't help so much when someone runs a red light and hits you from the side.

Facts speak for themselves:
http://www.monash.edu.au/cemo/roadsafety/abstracts_and_papers/004/christie_motorcycle.pdf

Fatality rate for motorcycles per distance travelled was about 27x that for cars in 1999.
Edit: I'm not trying to be a dick, I love riding and the only reason I dont have a bike is because I like living at home too much; but if you think it's safer than your average car, you're wrong, plain and simple.

besides what he said, a cars what, 3m wide?
not hard to knock it down a gear and use your wrist like you're 12
or keep high revs all the time and hammer it

Lol come on, no way a bike is as maneuverable as a car
on a track, doubt it but in traffic, how do bikes not win?
otw home tonight, there was a line of 5 two wheelers, a 90's gsxr1100, me, some poof on a scooter, some hot chick on a scooter, and another learner, on an across
all took the city west link, then onto queens rd, and back onto broughton st to hit the m4 westbound
we _all_ managed to stay in a group, more or less. filtered through, the 5 of us would just be waiting to take off at the lights.
if we couldn't make it, they'd pop between cars, and overtake, and claw their way back

you dont need such big gaps to change lanes, swerving to dodge another car is easier at low speeds (simply cos it needs less room), faster than about 95% of traffic on the road

how are they less maneouverable?

Cars can change direction much quicker, since they don't have to lean.

if you are driving/riding along at say 80

a CAT jumps out infront of you

you must swerve okay

which will be more stable, less likely to fuck up and lay it down/lose control

my nice sharp handling car with 4 supergrip tyres
or your inherently unstable bike (in the fact that they have tiny contact patches and larger momentum direction changes etc, like you have to move it from leaning one way to another

All I have to do to change direction is nudge a bar end or move my hips?

Edit: Ease off throttle, accelerate as you hit cat

Otherwise if road/lanes are clear... just move over

and then do the opposite and shift the whole bike to the oppsite side to get it straight again

all i have to do is turn a steering wheel lol quik come on you know its true

i love bikes but these are the things we must concede in order to get all that awesome
