You'd think thats the case yeh? I can regurgitate nearly word for word up to 1500 word long essay, with adaptation to the question, and i still lose to delinquents with no prep, writing 2.5 pages in 40 mins.

I dunno, maybe its better in the real thing, but to my knowledge my school is fuckered in the English dep.

I just hope for low 80s in english.

But I think I disagree. There was a guy called Shihab Hamid, who went really well in 4u/3u maths (like Keypad) and he went really well in his other subject. He got 89 in english, and duxed our school, getting a UAI of 99.95.
thats like whats happening to me, i was wondering does any one actually ace maths and english?

dunno but there are these all-rounders (uno, them "ok at everything, master of nothing" type ppl) at my school whose existence pisses me off cos although they obviously suck and have no talent in anything, their high 80s to low 90s in english (i predict) will fetch them a few tenths of a uai higher than me

but then i really dont care that much ehehehe

for keypads mark, his mark didnt get scaled to 100 for 3u maths, it got aligned to 100..i.e. 84/84 and 83/84 will both align to a mark of 100 out of 100 (i think.. the raw marks could be slightly different)..

the simple fact of life is... if u dunt get above 88 for english.. then u cant get 100UAI.... (according to 2003 hsc scaling)....

y u ask? because 88 for english scales down to 84.4 that means that u have lost 15.6 marks of ur 500 aggregate which means that even if u get 100 PERCENT!!! in everything else.. u cant get 100 uai, because the aggregate to get 100uai in 2003 was something like 486.2.... so 500-15.6 = < the cut off to get 100uai...

so read that novel!! memorise that essay.... and learn how to write damn fast and neat.... ( i sound gay huh :D, doesnt matter... :D ;) )

actually i just realised 89 isnt even enough... u need at least 89.2

in 2002 the SBHS dux got 100 in 3U maths 99 in 4U maths midhigh 90s in phys chem and software, but got 89 for english so he got 99.95.

there are only 20 or so ppl getting 100 so its highly competitive so no u cant get 100 with anything band 5 counted.

edit:according to drbuchanon the guy who topped 3U did do 4U so *shrugs*
