Why is triangle ABC and ADE similar

angle EAD = angle CAB
angle ADE = angle ACB = 90*
therefore the triangles are similar

Why is triangle ABC and ADE similar

angle ADE = angle ACB (given (angle ADE and angle ACB are both right angles))
angle CAB is common
therefore angle AED = CBA (angle sum of trianges)

Therefore triangles ABC and ADE are similar (AAA)

You can find either 2 properties or 3 properties to prove triangles are similar. but for congreunt triangles you need to follow specific crap they give you

eg : sss,sas, RHS

< A is Common
pi/2 both exist. Hence they are similar =]
