So my school started handing out forms for dropping subjects etc. Sadly I wasn't able to pick up another subject since it was too late to realise that I was required to complete Prelim. I'm not sure if I should pick up Ext2 Maths. I'm only decent at Maths and above average at best. I got around 70% in the 3U exam, got an overall C report grade due to not seriously attempting topic tests, but I still tried. Ranks are unknown to students, so I don't really know where I'm at.

Pre Term 2 I was thinking of doing an Engineering course, but now I probably want to do something commerce related.

AFAIK I can drop Ext2 in the first term next year, but I have to complete all the assessments when I have 12 Units, so, extra work during Term 1. Being able to do Ext2 means I can drop Physics along with Chemistry. My tutor recommended me not to do 4U as it is a lot of work, but never said anything about if I'm good enough to do it, and my teacher also discouraged me doing Ext1 but here I am. I'll probably ask my math teacher about 4U, she'll probably say no.

Should I pick it up next year and give it a try? Or should I avoid the extra workload overall and just stick with Ext1?

Try it, you never really know how well you might do once you actually do it.

If you are passionate and ready to work hard for it, give it a go!

Just remember to stay on 11 or 12 units just in case you want to drop 4U.
