As you can see by my signature, I am doing 3 major works - EX2, HX, and the PIP. 11 units all up. the thing is, i want a semi-safeguard to french - which I am doing poorly, but my time-management skills are pretty bad so I want to focus on my other projects and complete them by term one.

Also history extension is SO BORING.

what should it be?

how are you finding the difficulty of the course? are you finding that it could perhaps be a hindrance on your other subs or not?

its not so much the difficulty as the time I have to put in. thats what i'm worried about - that it might be a hinderance

Only drop it if you are confident in your all counting 10 units. Especially if you're going for 99+, you'd want to be VERY confident/

And I can sympathize with finding it boring, it's honestly part of why I dropped it (along with another major work).

^Well it's a pickle then.

If you're not confident in French you shouldn't do 10 units. BUT if you're not coping with 11 units, it's probably adversely affecting a subject that will end up counting in the end.

So my advice is that if you believe you will do well in His Ext not at the expense of yuor other subjects.

The History Extension Project is not a 'major work' unlike EE2 and SAC. It's just a heavily weighted assessment. The exams are worth even more than the Project, so don't be alarmed by the magnitude of work. Because there are only 2 people in your class, there is less pressure in a sense because you and the other person can work together to boost your external marks, meaning whatever you get in school becomes redundant if you both perform well in the HSC. You won't have people dragging you down if you had ended up with a low rank due to the project in a bigger class, so you are at an advantageous position.

You say that French is not your best subject, obviously you can't drop it. If you're really concerned, drop history extension and spend that extra time studying/practicing your french either with a tutor or by yourself. 10 units, for some, may be risky. But if you know that they will all count, then it'll much easier to focus on those 10 and work your hardest on them. Especially french, as you can really use the extra time to perfect it.

I'm doing history ext. too and a PIP. I was also thinking if there is a point in doing it as 1 unit would only count right? But then I do enjoy it too.

Good luck with what you choose.

I did history extension this year. It is boring but if you find it easy you should keep it. It can seriously help pull up your marks a bit, it did for me. As the project goes, i did mine in two days and still got over 90% for it.
