your hsc marks which you got today are aligned not scaled

scaling is what they do to the marks to get an aggregate score on which basis they calculate ur atar if i recall correctly

scaling is just a method of adjusting the marks in a way where they can compare marks between people who do different subjects fairly when calculating ATAR i.e. adjusting the mark of say a 90 in subject X compared to a 90 in subject Y. So it's understandable why many subjects would not scale up because if they all scale up what is the point of adjusting it lol

Scaling doesn't have anything to do with difficulty between years. Scaling had to do with Student cohort performance in that year alone.

Because that's just how they compare subjects. If things scaled up there wouldn't be much difference between a 90 in MX2 and a 90 in art.

It's petty, but I need to beat my oldest sister's 97.8... Here's hoping. I've gotten a 96.9, 97.35 and 97.7 from three different calculators so far (Matrix, Dux, Talent).

No it means that's exactly how easy your school marked.

Wouldn't suprise me I live practically in the middle of nowhere and my peers definitely aren't the smartest. But I'LL do some of my lessons through access and my teachers from school don't mark my work? Like I got 100% on my last bio exam. Arghh!
