Re: Semester 2 Chatter Thread
"The Norton Anthology of English Literature, volume 2B. The Victorian Age. (Students who own The Norton Anthology, 7th edition, vol. 2, the book for 'Inventing Modernity (ENGL1015), do not need to buy The Victorian Age). Dickens, Great Expectations (Penguin) Eliot, Middlemarch (Everyman) Additional material may be included in a Course Reader."
Great Expectations should be excellent. (EDIT: Yeah it was the other subject.)
Interestingly, ENGL1000 is WRIT1000 from next year, so there was only one year where ENGL1000 could be counted towards senior English courses. We capitalised on that well.
EDIT: Now I can pretty much plan out all of my next year, which is convinient!
S1:
CHEM3111 - Organic Structure & Reactivity
BIOL2016 - Cell Biology
ENGL2638 - Literature & Cinema
PHIL2645 - Philosophy of Law
S2:
CHEM3115 - Synthetic Medicinal Chemistry (this subject's gonna be awesome)
ENGL2629 - Victorian Literature
ENGL2623 - Twentieth Century Literature: Modernism
PHIL2617 - Practical Ethics
I'm doing that one (along with 20thC modernism, US writing, and Lit&Cin from what I remember), but I sure don't remember Shakespeare being on the text lists. As Rafy said, that kinda sorta makes no sense eh? Here's what they listed for 09:Jayodore said:but there's another english class (i think its victorian literature) where you actually study shakespeare! yay!
