Do you live close to Fisher? I couldnt be bothered travelling all that way.
It takes me about 20-25 minutes go walk to uni. It's pretty close really. I don't mind walking it either because it gives me a break from study where i can blast my mp3 player ;D
Completely fucks over your perception of what day it is though when you go in on the weekend.

Oh shit. I don't know?!

Hey guys, newbie needs help with the Fisher recalling option.

If it has +2 next to the recall date, I'm assuming its been recalled twice?
And if I recall it as well and the book comes back tomorrow, can I go and pick it up? Even if two other persons may have recalled it before me? (I know it's horrible but I really need that book!)

Hi Susan!
You hardly visit this forum now, do you?
Now that you've gradded..do you feel like going back to the past? Or do you think life after grad is much better..which is not the convention

no you can't, you'll have to wait for the other two people ahead of you in the queue to take it out and return it.

Oh bloody oath. I knew I should have done this essay last week.

@Latvia, I have no idea. I just checked it up on the catalogue and I think there's only one copy which has been taken out. I don't understand why the library has the same books but in different sections?!

Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread

what do you mean "has the same book but in different sections"? if they have it in other sections it would show up in your search. same call number.

I meant why does the library have multiple copies of one book but place them in different sections, if they do that at all.

Anyway, I think they only have that one copy.

Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread

They probably put it in reserve so it won't be held by 1 person for too long (so everyone can get a hold for it for at least 2 hours). If they put all in short loan or research library then the book could be borrowed for a week (or more) and it would be 'unfair' when other people urgently need it too.

I see the logic in it, it's a good idea. It still confuses me though!
I need to live and breathe fisher for the next two weeks. :(

Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread

No. I hate it. Fisher library is intimidating and everyone looks at you oddly, assuming I'm a first year straight away (which I am but still!). Plus, lately it's been so packed and I can't work with lots of people around me.
