I go to Randwick Girls (ranking: top 100 i think?) My parents want me to consider applying for Sydney Girls.

So what are the pros and cons of selective schools?

Thank you :)

Christina.

Pros: Competitiveness, if you hate being beaten, you end up striving to imrpove yourself; easy to get help, someone i bound to understand concepts; smart friends encouraging studyig; you will know how smart the 99 ATAR kids are and how you compare to them (99 atar kids occur every year at most selective schools); the pride and prestige in going to one.

Cons: possibly the travel, you won't be coming first in all your subjects (99.9% of cases); you won't feel smart unless you're doing really well.

I go to an average selective school and i have to say, it is more than worth going.
