hey there! i had the same problem but my timetable is fixed now.for the psychology elective, theres only really one option. the code for that is PSYC1001 (because the other is restricted for people doing the psychology course. http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/courses/2008/PSYC1001.html) +
+
for sociology, there are three choices.
  1. cultural identities http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/courses/2008/SOCA1001.html (im doing this one!)
  2. sociology and everyday life http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/courses/2008/SOCA1004.html
  3. Introduction to Globalisation http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/courses/2008/SOCA1006.html
there is also one art elective for the 1st semester. to see what courses are available, search for college of arts and social science in the course selection page. basically, you can choose any course that begins with a 1 in the number part AND if it is not restricted (you have to read the course description).don't ask me how i know this!! my brother helped me =Pso, see you around!
