Well going off what has been said here collectively, we seem to agree that the answers are...

1. B
2. A
3. C
4. D
5. C
6. D
7. D
8. B (although being argued as possibly C)
9. C (but being argued because it says 'hospital')
10. B
11. A
12. D
13. A (being argued as B, salt needed to perspire, but salt also dehydrates)
14. C
15. B
16. B
17. D
18. A
19. C
20. B

13 is definitely A Jimmy. I've never read anything about an athlete needing salt before an event...
Water is the best hydrater so A is the one that makes the most sense.

Still not sure about the private hospital insurance though =\

Yeah my teacher said it was probably B but because the statistic vary between sources, they sometimes accept two answers (as happened in 2007). I though that after 65 years of age, CVD became the leading cause?

Yer that was my argument, the older people are more likely to have CVD aren't they?

45-64 Cancer (All neoplasms) 41.9 Cancer (All neoplasms) 57.5
Cardiovascular disease 24.7 Cardiovascular disease 14.4
Injury and poisoning 10.8 Injury and poisoning 6.2
Digestive disorders 5.4 Respiratory system diseases 5.0

65-84 Cancer (All neoplasms)38.3 Cancer (All neoplasms) 33.7
Cardiovascular disease31.9 Cardiovascular disease 33.0
Respiratory system diseases9.3 Respiratory system diseases8.6

Thats percent of deaths in males, then females, couldnt copy over the tables so its all messed up, hopefully you can figure it out.

Therefore cancer major in both age groups. So B and C

13 is definately A, athletes dont need salts before competition or untill about 2-3 hours into it and can actually make them sick having too much salt before it.

i took the multiple choice paper out with me.

i lookd at some other peoples mulitple choice answers, and you have no idea how wide the smile is on my face.

1)B
2)A
3)C
4)D
5)C
6)D
7)D
8)B - i chose this coz i thought 65-84 would have higher incidence of CVD.
9) i chose D, because it looked like the most logical response, i didnt choose C because it was stating "private hospital insurance" but im pretty sure private insurance gives more choice than just the private hospitals
10) B
11)A
12)D
13)A - salts dehydrate the individual. powerade contains salts in the form of electrolytes, which help hydrate individuals quicker, but high salt fluids would just be like eating a spoon-ful of MSG. Also, if you've ever watched an endurance event with the kenyans coming first all the time, they have tables where the athletes run past and grab a bottle of "water" not "salt water"
14)C - i was gonna choose cholesterol, but i realised its not a source of fuel.
15)B
16)B
17)D
18)A
19) i chose D, has nothing to do with goal shooting, but i think it was C, because it is quite valid if you're looking at another skill.
20)B

Why is 19 D) can u please explain because i'm quite confused.

I thought that if the test can be administered by anybody, not just one particular person or coach, than it is valid. Also, it would be reliable because they are repeating the test twice. So therefore i put A as it is both reliable and valid. This is because the type of training can be administered by any person or coach (or as so i thought)

thanks
