There is an example in the Heinemann Preliminary SDD book... according to a teacher at school.

I haven't actually looked at it myself, but when I do, I will tell you what I think...

Well ok yes it is preliminary but he said that it has the basics right there, and you can just elaborate a little further!

Well for our part one its:

1. Defining and understanding the problem

-project proposal
-defining the problem
-clear list of objectives
-feasibility study
-selection of appropriate data structures
-diagrams (data flow diagrams and system flowcharts)
-project management techniques (gantt chart and project diary
-social and ethical issues

2. Planning and designing of software solutions

-inteface design
-IPO charts
-data dictionary
-algorithm description
-evidence of a modular approach to your sw dev.
-detail the arguments to be passed between modules
-syntax diagrams
-develop test data and test algorithms
-create set of final screen design diagrams
