yeah? how can people do maths at uts??!smallcattle said:how can ppl sit in 1 room for 4hrs doing the same stuff week after week....
my point was to reflect his/her own stupidity for asking...Lexicographer said:And what do you mean "how can people do maths at UTS?" That's like asking how can people do MedSc at UNSW? You just do.
How did u do uni units while at Highschool, was it part of ur HSC or something on the sideLazyBoy said:well i did two units while i was doing my HSC from ACU and it was fairly easy. i got an credit in both and thats without studying all that much for it
That's only if you're a retard and choose experimental subjects.bscienceboi said:Science is not easy, it requires the most attention. Not to mention the science load is quite big.
4 Hour pracs each unit. Which in first year doing 4 science subjects equates to 16 hours.
On comparison to commerce or other subjects, they spend on average 12 hours a week a Uni and science is greater than 20hours. Pharmacy in particular is stressful and a lot of work.
The main thing about this is that people don't want to spend so many hours in the lab, doing hard work (yes science isnt easy at all). Hence the dropping rates of science students throughout Universities in Australia and the lack of chemist/pharmacists.
Its hard work, long hours and pays shit all.
Yes it is compulsory for any science subject which has a lab component. Unless you major in maths or some sort of philosophy of science, you would most likely encounter lab work.the_pun said:so subjects like computing and math-related ones have less hours? is lab work compulsory in the science degree? i heard somewhere it was (unless this means comp prac or something ? coz i hate scientific laboratory stuff...) are there any compulsory units of lab work in the BSc degree, or can u totally choose what area u want to specialise in?
so if u majored in computing for example, "laboratory" work would only be actual working on computers (as opposed to actual science lab stuff)?acmilan said:Yes it is compulsory for any science subject which has a lab component. I agree It's dead set 3-4 hours of lab already.flyin' said:Science = Hours at university.
