State Ohm's Law and what it is used for.
Was asked before
V=IR Voltage=CurrentxResistance
Used when you have two out of three of Voltage Current and Resistance and you are required to find the unknown of the three.

Must be in conditions where decomposition doesn't occur wasn't it?

:lol:

Just kidding. Define: Half-Life
Energy = Mass * speed of light squared (haha random)

Half the time required for a radioactive substance to decay.

List 5 ways of finding mechanical advantage.

I can explain e=mc^2 :p

This is the formula that calculates the amount of energy used.

E= Energy
M= Mass
C= Speed of light (a Constant)

Half-life is the time required for an unstable atom to decay half of its total amount of matter.

For fossils to be formed:
Dead
Close to water so scavengers won't come
Covered with sediment to prevent decomposition
Remain undisturbed for millions of years

According to the syllabus we only need to know that resistance is measured in Ohms. Whe only need to know, in electricity:
-how to draw a cicuit
-describe volatge, resistance & current using analogies
-describe the realtionship of V=IR
-advantages and disadvantages of series & parallel circuits

Me too :(
Science isn't too bad, but english... *fumes*
I agreed until our trial then our english teacher told us how all we need to know is a few language and visual techniques; structures of texts; how to use direct speech; colons and semi-colons; and to use a large vocabulary.
What i really, really hat is geography then maths - SKILLS :mad:

Crap I only know two of those points :uhoh:

Maybe only our school did that then o_O; It was in the "machines" topic but it doesn't appear to be in the syllabus.

do we have to know the scientific contribution of an Australian for the SC?

We did an assignment on that...but I don't think you'd need to get specific in the SC.

the analogies one just means relate it to something like a tap where the water pump is the source- the voltage; a bottleneck increases the resistance; a tap is the switch that controls the current.

Advantages of parallel and series circuits
Parallel - if one bulb blows the other won't, better for large amounts
Series - Cheaper to make, simple, uses less power

basically the disadvantages are the opposites

sorry i took so long to respond :(

hope this helps though, with the advantages and disadvantages its just common sense, imagine if you have all your christmas tree lights parallel or series
