Highlights: Definitely The Catcher in the Rye (Yr10) If only I got to do it @ VCE.... also liked The Crucible in year 10...In year 11...Macbeth and Triage were great...Cry of the wolf in year 8....Year 12...all the texts were good, but none as good as the year 10 ones which I really enjoyed most..unfortunately I guess, but thats it. Year 7 and 8 was very basic, pretty dull stuff, except for The cry of the wolf which was great. 'Tomorrow when the war began' pretty good also, great author John Marsden. Also year 10 highlights, Lord of the Flies and Animal Farm - Awesome books.

Year 12

Streetcar named desire (Not bad but not great 5/10)
Lake of the woods (Better, still not brilliant 7/10)
Shark Net (Also ok, dull at times though 7/10
A Man for all Seasons (7/10 Also ok)

Oops , I voted wrong. I thought it meant year 12 only, all of which i enjoyed. Wilfred Owen was good, but it made me feel slightly sad. All the Shakespears I read were good too. Of course, I consider watching any movie in class good, even if we have to analyse it.
But what I've hated in ALL if school are Chinese Cinderella and Wilie the Wimp.

The Catcher in the Rye really stands out for me. All other texts were meh. But I hated Frankenstein intensely, only ever read the first letter.

My favourite text was definitely "To Kill A Mockingbird" + I liked the movie as well.

P.S. Nice thread. :)

Y'all have had such good books! I haven't even had To Kill a Mockingbird prescribed unfortunately as it's my favourite book.
I'm crossing my fingers that next year (year 12), my teacher assigns us Pride and Prejudice because it's another one of my favs.
I must say that Lord of the Flies was the worst book I've been prescribed. If I were to be assigned The Catcher in the Rye, than that would be.
