Just a question, does anyone know approximately how many people are shortlisted for the USYD Merit Scholarship?

i didnt get it unfortunately and was just wondering have they already seen our atars and because i didnt get in does this mean i didnt do that great or was it just based on the personal statements to get into the shortlist

No, they judge it purely on your application you sent in (i.e personal statements and your form). (It even said that in the letter). And most likely your UAC preferences. HSC marks and ATARs are not finished yet.

Yeah, I didn't get shortlisted either. I'm thinking that it was probably my personal statement that let me down. But, I guess all I can do now is wait on the ATARs and hope I can get some type of scholarship that way.

I was shortlisted, as was a friend of mine.

In Comm, if you get shortlisted, chances are you'll get it.

In Arts, not so much - I got shortlisted, but I didn't get it.

There's more money in Comm, so they can afford more scholarships....
