I do General Maths, am ranked 1st out of 67 students and have been getting between 98% and 100% on every assessment so far this year (compared with the course mean of around 50-60%).

I'm just worried that even if I ace the exam, it'll still scale down. Does anyone know whether or not having done General will affect me HUGELY (i.e. jeopardise any hope of me getting a UAI of 90 if I'm doing similarly well in all my other subjects)?

Cheers! :)

Scaling only effects you if you perform badly.

your confidence tells me you'll go well, and thus- scaling has no effect.

Re: 回复: Scaling..

Cause I tried putting in different marks for General Maths into the UAI Calculator and even if you get a 85 for this subject, it'll scale you down a lot and may not even be counted if you do 12 units.

Like tommykins said, it only really affects you if you do badly. If your marks are averaging about 90 then you'll get above 90. My marks averagedin the 80s and I ended with 94 last year. Stigma against General Maths is totally unwarranted

well u have 2 remember that it pulls you down
so if you're doing ok in 2u but know you can put more effort in and pull (say) 80s - 90s then you're best of staying with 2u
