Disadvantages:
-Sources such as Solar and wind energy are dependent on whether, so in the absence of Sun (for example) electricity will be dramatically short thus inefficient for user.
-Structures such as Wind collectors are known to destroy habitats, as well as kill birds that fly by.
-Financial implication: reduce tourism in agricultural areas as wind turbines are considered "Ugly".
-For Hydro electricity: Land structures need to be destroyed in order to make room for places to store water. This could effect marine and land life, causing an imbalance in food webs and chains.

(That's all i can think off).

A volcano is formed when tectonic plates collide resulting in the land above being pushed upwards. One of the plates goes under the other, where the earth heats and then melts the rock into magma and gases. The magma then settles in the chambers quite near the surface. - that answer was a variation of one at http://library.thinkquest.org/03oct/00795/volcano.html

Cyclones are formed by warm air rising in a low pressure system and condensing into massive thunderclouds. When cool air rushes in and fills up what is left, the air bends inwards then spirals upwards with a great force. The winds swirl and swirl, faster and faster, and form a huge surface, which is now a cyclone. :)

What is the difference between an independent variable and a dependent variable
independent variable is what you change. Dependent variable is what changes as a result of the independent variable.
