makes no sense imo

crimes should be looked at with socio economic status being irrelevant

It's not at all, which is their argument. The guy was a repeat offender and worth about 20 mil, so that fine was about 1% of his net worth, which is the same as a normal person getting a fine of about $5000.

Edit: Also originally it was "only" 90,000, but went to court and claimed to be a diplomat.

They don't give anyleeway at all which means say ur on cruise control and going down a hill, you get picked up for speeding as you hit the brakes even though ur only 1 or 2kph over the limit

Az: so if u have 6 kids you should get less punishment for killing one because you have more than average
Straw man-he said fines should be relative to net worth

Shane, you can just have a minimum fine and then as your income increases so does the fine. If someone earning a million bucks a year cops a $647 fine they will lol

do their police have any disgression?
because our law does not allow for leeway either lol
just police disgression

2km/h over will get u pinged by a speed camera m8, and a cop who doesnt like the look of u

yeah, net worth correlates to the amount of kids u hav~!
i jsut dont see how it is possible to increase penalties for crimes depending on socioeconomic status. just because the punishment is only monetary should be an issue. some peoples time is worth less than others so they should go to gaol for longer?

because the fine should be a deterrent. Is $84 enough for you not to drive 10 km/h over? What if the fine was a weeks wages?
