we won the year before last actually;-)

blegh..that year...

we were unlucky. Classes were badly divided etc...

2 class teams lost nearly every single game
the other 2 (which i was fortunately a member of..how lucky) won nearly every single game. If decent people were divvied out i'm sure we would have beaten you:p

you know the entire school gave us shit for about 3 weeks straight for losing....

Maybe the ones from your school. Not everyone who gets that studies 12-15+ hours a day like the SMH claims.

are Ruse ppl normal?
what goes on in the school? do the teachers have some sort of intelligence-inducing pill that makes em all smart?
Or do they (like normal schools) go through the same stuff as us, ie. parties, shopping, sports etc.?

They are, by majority, normal...there's no "pill", they are smart to begin with
I know a couple of ruse people and they do the whole shopping, socialising, partying etc

You're not gifted if you're only getting 85% w/o study. Unless you're gifted in non-academia.

This of course is a more strict definition of gifted.

Wouldn't giftedness include the inclination to study?
So it would be pointless to separate them, how many people could go well in a subject without knowing the content of the course, unless you are telepathic:p. More intelligent people would enjoy studying more, and give the appearance of no study when in reality it is effortless study, ie done for the fun of it

Yep, except for shopping (since I haven't done that). Do you go shopping at your school? Anyways, there's dances, musicals, heaps of extra-curricular stuff. I'd say it's pretty normal as well as the people.

You clearly don't know what a gifted person is. You also assume smart people can be bothered with the mundaness which is the HSC syllabus.

lol That's your opinion. In my opinion they are fairly normal. Sure they're not perfect examples of average Australians (who, meaning no offence, are really, really stupid: again my opinion) but they still do normal things. They do all the things other schools do (except for shopping-which is just plain uncommon, maybe even rare or unique).

o god..no, they sit you down n MJQs office n "ask" your parents to remove you, n they always agree coz they dont kno that you cant get kicked out.
Also, we have some of the wordt teachers around. And a lot of the smartest ppl.
And im near/at the bottom of the dogpile, with UAI estimates of around 90 (based on prelim marks bahaha), but am a prefect, was a musical lead, in the drama production and play rugby at a rep level. so go figure. were not all complete social rejects. we just tend to shun society coz its too normal..
wtf am i saying..
basically, ruse sucks, its segregated from reality, but we get good results coz ppl work their asses off.
the reason theres more azns n indians n srilankans (sorry not many pakis) is that they work harder, and are diligent students. The % or anglo to other is ridiculous, but I'm anglo, and proud of it. I have a girlfriend who came top 10 in ag last yr, and im proud of it. I have friends who'll get 100 and I'm proud of it. But ruse sucks.

btw Numero Uno id say as many people at Ruse play sport as at any other school, more then some even.

and even though some Ruse students dont delight in running around in little shorts, grunting and kicking around a ball, i wouldnt be surprised if most of them do more with their spare time then you do with yours.
shane, we all kno u like watchin jozz in his short shorts..fuckin soccer..
but its true, our school is bllistic, and we do do sport. we have chs cricket n table tennis n tennis n running ppl, n rep baseballers n rugby players etc.

Yeah, and it's the first school that I know of that has grade sport tryouts as compulsory.

DIE RUSE DIEEEEEEEEE!!

...sorry, i just get like that when Ruse is mentioned...u see, i go to Cumberland High.

why would going to Cumberland make u hate Ruse so much u say? because if u walk to the top entrance of my school and walk about 2 mins down the road, u are confronted with the eyesore that be James Ruse. the school nobody can shut up about is a stones throw from my school. well i can easily say that we're no match academically, but oh boy do we give em an ass whoppin at sport. my cricket team beat ruse in the zone finals! :D

so everyone goes on about how smart ruse kids are...but u have to understand how lame they are too...i mean, on the bus to school (yes we share buses too:mad: ) they have heated debates about...physics...and maths...

it may surprise u fella's, but theres more to life than conics and mechanics :uhhuh:
sad little cumbo child..
that is all.
ps well whoop yo ass any day...well...all 3 non-pussy ones of us...
we suck but u suck more
HAH!
o crap
im diggin a hole
