like a quota for aboriginal students

they have a small quota for rural students so that they will DEFINITELY get a certain number of rural kids (ie. they're not in competition with the other mainstream students).

i think that's what it is

In one of the UNSW selection policies that I read, 25% of students have to be from rural areas.

There's 146 unbonded places, so 25% is roughly a quarter of that. :p

You've got a good chance if you're rural then.
