Well the ceremony is on the 16th, so in the next few days the 1st rankers will be notified so they have ample notice to attend the ceremony.

I think it is about 12/13/14 that they know our results (according to lecturers from the Distinction Course Information Day).

But they should have state ranks already. They've been decided (presumably), as it's less than a week to our results. Why not get it done soon, seeing as many people aren't available on weekends.

Yeah, I agree. But we never know. In my opinion, today is just too early...I once heard from my friend that when you get a state rank (i.e. 1st in this case), you are not supposed to tell anyone. And getting a phone call arranged like 6 days before the ceremony just sounds too early for me. But in saying that I don't really know either. I only know that you can actually get phone calls on weekends too.

my school said that 1st in state would most likely be notified by phone on either thursday, friday or monday. tuesday the ranks are released to public. i really don't think they'd call on weekends - just because papers were marked on weekends doesn't mean the BOS will call everyone on sundays.

But BOS can/does make phone calls on weekends though.
