Hey guys,
i'm just asking for a little guidance.
I'm having heaps of trouble trying to find related texts relation to Strictly Ballroom. I've found Othello, the book Does my head look big in this? and a Maya Angelou poem. I don't really want to do another film because i've been told it's good to get a variety and i'm not sure on the above texts because i know they relate to belonging/ not belonging, do they relate to Strictly ballroom.

Thanks in advance.

Hey,
My related texts are definitely:
Strictly Ballroom
Ten Things I Hate About Me
and possibly:
Samson & Delilah
Rabbit Proof Fence the book

Our prescribed text is Skrzynecki's poems.

Do our related texts need to be related to each other & the prescribed text? I didn't think they did.

I suggest this as a related text: (just click this link)
Brisbane Stories - Scattered People

There are lots of stories there relating to Belonging. Basically, they are people's personal short stories on their refugee / migration experience to Australia and their struggle for residency and work visas. Try Aaron's from China, for example.

Hope this helps!! :uhhuh: Good luck!

I don't see why you couldn't analyse another film. You've already got a play, a book and a poem as related material. That's a lot of variety already.
Remember, variety can also refer to genre and stuff.
In terms of your texts relating to your prescribed, don't worry about that right now. Analyse them to death first and then make connections. You'll be surprised how easily some texts can relate to another.

School Addict: If you are doing Skrzynecki as a core text, do NOT use Strictly Ballroom as a related text - it is also a core text, you will be CANED by the markers...why your teacher hasn't already told you this is beyond belief.
