If your looking for a great discovery text look at Taxi Driver (1976) by Martin Scorsese.

Away is basically about the denial of how society functions by going on holidays and pretty much covering up the nitty-gritty details of living in a time of war or life in general.

Taxi Driver basically covers the same thing in a more confronting and mature perspective. The protagonist Trevor resents the fakeness of society which is justifiable as he is a war veteran.
