Because if they hung around they would eventually digress into the depths of obscurity or be raped at the hands of the music industry and no one would ever remember them.

I heard one song by Anaal Nathrahk, it was just fucking nuts. It was like, beyond heavy, just a massive wall of sound coming from the speakers......I couldn't understand any of it. It was awesome.

Music by chicks rocks so I recommend little birdy, cat power, pj harvey, bertie blackman, bjork, sarah blaskoe... And in general i reckon you should go out and get a compilation cd because its a really good way to get introduced to new stuff you havent heard before
for music by chicks, try:

Thanks for your suggestions people, you suggested a few here that I already like that I accidentally forgot off my list (like george, the waifs) as well as some fresh stuff that I will listen for....

I am in need of some fresh tunes..... I like listening to basically anything, but these are the bands that I really like:

-Missy Higgins
-Silverchair
-Tori Amos
-Jet
-Eskimo Joe
-Maroon 5 are ok

Can you guys recommend some stuff that maybe isn't so mainstream but would go with my tastes.... preferably Aussie stuff too.....
lol firstly stop listening to those bands and start listening to some good ones
like Static X if ur into industrial
Machine Head, In Flames, Fear Factory if ur into some good old heavy metal
Mudvayne, Britney Spears if u want to get skits up cos ur about to fight
or some of The Wiggles or Hi 5 if u wanna kill urself

"The Dark Side of the Moon" album, by Pink Floyd is essential listening for all fans of music, no matter what your tastes.
How typical...why not try all their other albums aswell? All just as good, some better than Dark Side of the Moon.

My personal favourites other than Dark Side of the Moon include:

The Pipers at the Gates of Dawn
Wish You Were Here
Animals

What's wrong with The Wiggles!? Some of their tunes are undeniably catchy.

Anyway, I'll just say Joni Mitchell, The Band, Patti Smith, Captain Beefheart And His Magic Band, Love, The Zombies, The Byrds, Talking Heads, T. Rex, Peter Gabriel, Rod Stewart (his stuff with The Faces, I mean, not the crap he did from about 1975 onwards) and The Cars.
