Basically I'm in my first year studying Commerce/Law at ANU but I would like to reapply(?) for UAC in "another" subject at another university (so being a first year again). I finished my HSC in 2012 so my ATAR is 1 year old. Would my university results affect my application if I apply for Commerce/Law at say Macquarie University or a subject in another field at any other university?

if you've done one full time year (8 units / 48 credit points) UAC will take into consideration both your uni results and your ATAR, but if you have done less than 8 units/48 credit points you will only be considered based on your ATAR. depending on how similar the course is you can also apply for academic credit so you don't have to re do everything.
