Hi, I currently need a UAI min of 85.00 to enter into a BTech degree I want to do at uni. I have read hundreds of articles on this site on how to predict UAI but all seem to confuse me. So I am wondering if you guys can help give a 'ball park' of where I can expect my UAI to be at the moment. Current subjects and how I am going include:
-2U Mathematics (doing better, in top 10 of class (out o around 26) on half yearly)
-2U Physics (not so good, below average on half yearly (rank 10 out of 14))
-2U Advanced English (not bad, above average in all tasks to date (rank 26 out 64))
-2U Geography (ranked 3rd (out of 23)with strong mark in half yearly)
-2U Economics (ranked 2nd (out of 13), did very well in half yearly)
-2U PDHPE (ranked in top 5 (out of 39), doing well)
-1U Studies of Religion (ranked in top 20 (out of more than 90) and above average)

I know it is hard to say from the information I have given you here but if you could tell me whether my goal of UAI 85 is realistic at the moment, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you :).

You can't just say top 5 or whatever.

You need to say like top 5 out of 40.
and the ranking of your school.

the best way to guage where ur UAI is, is to gather data from the school.
I.e. what % got band 6, or band 5 in a certain subject.

For example say your average in physics, and at your school hte previous year the average HSC mark was 80.

So your estimate HSC mark right now would be 80.
Repeat with all your subjects and put it in the SAM.

It's not very precise, but it'll give you a good indication.

Ok, I have amended ranks to include the include the entire size of the class. Are you saying that I should gain information about the average marks from all of my subjects and then plugging those figures into SAM to get an estimate UAI?? Would these figures be available online or would I have to request this information from the school?

thank you

The ranking of your school should also help.

And knowing the percentage of your school's cohort getting Band 5,6 would give you a good indicator.

I mean find out your schools statistics (from your school) about how the previous years went, and how many band 6s you got for each subject.
For example.

Let's assume that at your school for each subject. 10% gets band 6, 20% gets band 5, 30% gets band 4 and 40% gets band 3.

Your marks (example only)
2u math - 10/26 - Thats top 40% = High band 4 = ~77
phys - 10/14 - Thats bottom 30% = High band 3 = ~67
eng - 26/64 - Thats top 40% = ~77

and etc etc with all your subjects.
Now place these marks into SAM and you'll get a UAI estimate.

Now if you can't get hold of your schools statistics, you can use the states statistics (if you think your school is average) and try with those.
