[UPDATE #1] You can now "enroll" up untill the pending stage. In other words, you can pick subjects and classes, and see how they fit together, you just can't reserve a spot in them yet ...

[UPDATE #2] Go to http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~nss/sitar/classes/ to check the number of people enrolled in any class

What is everybody doing next semester?

I'm doing:

BIOC2101 Principles of Biochemistry (Advanced)
ANAT2241 Histology: Basic and Systematic
MICR 2201 Fundamentals of Microbiology and Immunology
BIOS3061 Plant Ecosystem Processes (am i going to die doing a third year course without doing a 2nd year assumed knowledge??)

Well there may be others stuck in my situtation. Marks for a particular subject (COMP 3421 - Computer Graphics) haven't been realesed yet, and hence I am still considered stage 2 and can't enroll until the 16th. Hmph.

Emailed, waiting for response. Everyone in the course is in the same boat, so not much I can do. I want to enroll before all the good tutes are gone and I have to go more than 3 days in session 1.

Minai do you only do 3 courses every session?

yeah, which means my degree will finish at the end of S1 2006 (3.5 years)
why? because I'm going overseas next month, but I really want to try for vacation employment before I graduate, hence I extended my degree by one semester to try for vacation work next summer

i think think there's much you can do. They are not going to change MICR i don't think since it's been like that for a few years. You're going to have to miss out on one of the lecture.

hello, im stage 2 b.com student planning to co-major in IBUS & FINS.
i was tryin to find sum info about this co-major, and fce site says that i need to do 7 courses from each discipline + 2 options and 12 uoc of gen ed.
my questions are...

1. does "7 courses in one discipline" only include required courses?? or options too? if it does include options, what does that other "2 options" mean??
2. since most gen ed courses are 3 uoc, does that mean i am supposed to take more than 24 courses total for 144 uoc?

arhghgh...kinda lost.. anywayz plz help me out n thanx a lot and happy new year guyz~~~

7 courses means the compulsory units, plus the elective FINS & IBUS subjects to fill up the 7 subjects each major.

the 2 other electives are free electives, meaning you can choose anything from school (I'm still unsure if you can choose electives from other faculties though)

the gened's yes, you'll have to (usually) do 4 gen ed courses to make up the 12CP (but you could do a language which is 6CP)

So basically, your breakdown would be:

Core 1st yr commerce units = 36 UOC (6 subjects)
FINS major = 42 UOC (7 subjects)
IBUS major = 42 UOC (7 subjects)
Gen Ed = 12 UOC
Free Electives = 12 UOC (2 subjects)

= 144 UOC

does anyone know why i keep getting this error ? I'm doing software engineering, second year enrolment. Repeating discrete. Not sure why i keep getting requirements not met for seng subject.

the system probably screwed up the course codes COMP2111 and COMP2110

i think the system is a bit f*cked up cos one of my courses is missing

that or they cancelled JAPN2700

they might've updated the course code - check the faculty, or check all JAPN courses to see
