A point moves anticlockwise around the circle at a uniform speed of 2m/s.
(a) Find an expression for the rate of change of its x-coordinate in terms of , when the point is above the x-axis. (the units on the axes are metres.)
(b) Use your answer in part (a) to find the rate of change of the x-coordinate as it crosses the y-axis at P(0,1).
ANSWERS: (a) (b)-2 m/s
My problem is in finding part (a) at the moment. In terms of starting, I got that I have to find:
Finding dx/dy is not an issue but I can't find dy/dt. No idea how to incorporate 2m/s into this. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED THANKS
