yeah thats cool make light of women getting raped
And it's pretty cool of you to racebait every brown person/migrant. Way to take a rape out of context and make it a racial issue. Everyone has already said the sentence reduction has been attributed to mental trauma, which everyone can get as long as they have medical proof regardless of race or culture.

''In reducing Sharifi's sentence to 12 1/2 years, with an minimum of 8 1/2 years, Court of Appeal judges Peter Buchanan, David Ashley and Robert Redlich gave weight to an observation made by the prosecutor that the victim "had the impression that despite her tears and protests Mr (Sharifi) was acting as if she was a willing participant".

"He was very isolated. He was inexperienced in forming relationships with women and possessed an unclear concept of what constitutes consent in sexual relations. These factors in combination heightened the probability of the commission of the offence," the psychologist found.

it is okay. in islam, tears mean yes.

he'll be outta jail in 3 years and ready to rape again. first judge observed he had shown no remorse or insight into his attacks.

there have been a number of cases in which PTSD has mitigated sentencing. even if it might fly in the face of whatever your logic is, it has little to do with his being an afghan or a muslim. given that he has been diagnosed with a mental illness that contributed to his actions, he will receive mandatory counselling while in gaol. failing to demonstrate an adequate level of recovery will weigh against him in any parole hearing.
