im analysing a movie and although i am aware of the specific film techniques such as camera angles, special effeects, etc.. i was wandering if it is essential to inlcude some of these and if it is alright to just use other features such as metaphor, dialogue, etc.

you should add film techniques and language techniques, although i usually only add 1 or 2 film techniques.

The filming techniques are essential - it is a visual text that you are analysing

You should definitely try and focus of film techniqes, otherwise, what's the point in doing a movie?

what would the effect of an orange hue over the film be? in a beautiful mind they use an orange hue in the final speech by John Nash

if you dont understand what i mean about the orange glow, you know how movies use a blue/green hue over films to create an effect of suspense, or gloom
