What characterises...

  1. 90 HSC mark in English Advanced
  2. 90 HSC mark in 2U Maths
  3. 30 HSC mark (out of 50) in 3U Maths
  4. 90 - 95 HSC mark in Business Studies
  5. 90 HSC mark in Economics
  6. 70 or 80 HSC mark in Physics

By "characterising", I mean a general outlook on what is required from a student from a 150-ish ranked school and in the externals!

Thanks :)

top 10% of each subject
Surely not necessary for 30 out of 50 in HSC 3U Maths? A 30 out of 50 is like a Band 3. I'm not sure what it is in terms of E's for 1 unit subjects (probably E2 to E3?).

In percentages:

E4- 90-100
E3- 70-90
E2- 50-70
E1- 0-50

So yes, a 30/50 (60%) is an E2, which is equivalent to a band 3 lol...

Idk how much 3U maths gets aligned at the lower raw marks though

Sigh. I seriously don't know what to do about my 3U. I'm pathetic at 3U @___@.
I have been in the 70% range for a while, trying to bump it up to a 75% in every exam, gah.

I'll be trying my best, but I'm just worried that my best won't hit the requirements that will enable me to reach that ATAR, that is all. I'm not looking for an easy way out, I just needed some form of clear goal so I can over-exert and keep reaching for it.

What do you find hard about 3U though

Or better question: Where do the marks get lost
