Sup ppls. i was wonderin is this is true. my teacher said that a person that comes first in their subject n then gets a mark say 80, n another person from same school that came second n got a mark of 85, then the 1st rank person would get the 2nd rank persons HSC mark got 85 n thus still come first. tru or false?

That is true for their HSC assessment mark. Because the person came first he will receive the highest HSC exam mark as his moderated assessment mark which in your case is another persons mark of 85. And he will keep this own HSC exam mark of 80. The average of the 2 is taken to give his overall HSC mark.
